Title: Chapter XXVI: Look What The Bus Dragged In

In deep space, Jesse Alexander and his band of escaped aliens continue on their quest to get home. Jesse announces that if all of them want to reach their homeworlds, they need to first go to Knowhere.

Back in Carefree, Arizona, Sam Alexander has started living his life without the Nova helmet. He is enjoying school, spending time with his family and has begun a relationship with Carrie!

During Chess Club after school, Miss Schaefer remarks to Sam how well he has been playing lately. She explains how a player can use a castle move to switch the King and the Rook in order to get out of trouble or as a distraction. The teenager tells Miss Schaefer that he has to go and pick up Kaelynn from school.

Meanwhile at a local diner, Eva Alexander waits on a customer. Unfortunately, the customer happens to be Cletus Kasady! Cletus reveals his Carnage symbiote to Eva and takes her hostage!

Back at the Alexanders' apartment, Sam receives a call from Carrie. She frantically tells him that his mother is being held hostage at the diner.

At the diner, the police have surrounded the building. Inside, Carnage finishes his piece of pie and is ready to kill Eva since Sam hasn't arrived. Before he can hurt the waitress, Nova smashes into Carnage and through the back wall of the diner!

The two exchange punches as Cletus starts calling Nova by his real name. Sam tries to bluff and say that when Carnage told him that his real name was Cletus, he thought it was fake so he gave him a fake name as well. Sam then tricks the symbiotic psychopath into believing the Avengers are coming to assist him. During the distraction, Nova knee-kicks Kasady into a mini-golf park.

Carnage grabs the young hero and they begin trading punches again. During the exchange, Cletus mentions that he went by the Alexanders' old home and saw it was boarded up. Sam sarcastically replies that they moved into a mansion. The villain expalins he knew he was Sam Alexander and his response proved it. Nova continues to deny his identity and prepares to blast Carnage. However, the damaged helmet suddenly becomes powerless!

But just as Cletus prepares to take advantage of the situation, the helmet powers up and Carnage takes a full blast of the Nova Force at close range!

As Nova approaches the blistering body, he notices that Cletus has robotic legs. The symbiote takes advantage of the moment and wraps itself around the Nova helmet. Sam is able to pull away and gives the alien suit another full blast of energy!

Cletus and Sam begin fighting again in the street. When the police arrive, Carnage chooses to escape and let the symbiote heal his damaged body.

Back home, Sam explains to Eva that he may have revealed his identity to Carnage while he was suffering from the concussion. He reveals that he has a plan to save their secret but he needs her help.

Later at Carefree High School, Sam arrives at school on his skateboard. Principal Philbin sternly tells him that he is not to be using his skateboard because of his injury. The teenager apologizes and explains that he missed the bus. Suddenly, he hears an alien voice call out his name.

He turns to see Carnage diving at him while revealing that Sam is Nova to the school!
