What If #15 v.1

"What If Nova Were Four Other People?" - The issue includes four separate stories with four different people gaining the Nova powers instead of Rich Rider. One is Peter Parker, another is a homeless boy, the third is a woman who goes insane trying to find her husband's killer and the final story is of an evil Nova who teams up with Dr. Doom, the Sphinx and the Red Skull.

What If #36 v.1

"What If Nova Did Not Give Up The Nova Powers?" - This was the issue's second story and showed the consequences of Rich Rider keeping the Nova powers at the end of the Skrull/Xandar War. Rich returns to Earth with the stolen powers and battles the Champions of Xandar before realizing that he is causing more harm than good.

Other What If? appearances include #47 (2nd series), #49 (2nd series), #61 (2nd series), What If...Uncanny X-Men: Rise and Fall of the Shi'ar Empire (one-shot). These appearances typically consisted of Nova in a single panel with no dialogue.

Spidey Super-Stories #41

In this issue published by Marvel in conjunction with the children's show, The Electric Company, Nova teams up with Spider-Man to battle Spidey's old foe, Dr. Octopus.


An older, alternate version of Nova appears occasionally to tutor and lecture Spider-Girl as she works to become a super-hero like her father, the original Spider-Man. This universe is also referred to as the M2 Universe.

During a cosmic battle between Kang and Immortus, an army of Avengers from alternate universes are called forward to battle. An evil Nova is on one side and a good Nova is on the other. The universes they are from are not identified. However, the good alternate Nova may have been the hero introduced in Nova #6 v.2.

Universe X & Paradise X

Nova is one of the Realm Marvel, a group of heroes whose bodies are in the Negative Zone but their astral forms are in the Realm of the Dead. Nova is on the side of Mar-Vell and is one of his loyal recruiters.
