About the Movie:

On August 1, 2014, Marvel Studios released the Guardians of the Galaxy movie to theaters in most countries.

Based on the Guardians of the Galaxy comic book series by Dan Abnett and Andy Lanning, the movie was about a group of cosmic heroes joining forces to fight the Kree executioner Ronan the Accuser. Ronan is hunting the Guardian's leader Star-Lord after he stole a mysterious orb containing great power.

The movie featured Xandar, the Nova Corps, Rhomann Dey (portrayed by John C. Reilly), Nova Prime Irani Rael (portrayed by Glenn Close), Nova Corps Denarian Garthan Saal (portrayed by Peter Serafinowicz), Knowhere and Cosmo!

The Nova Corps appears in the novelization of the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 movie but not in the film itself.

Xandar and the entire Nova Corps were destroyed by Thanos off-screen in the Avengers: Infinity War movie. According to the movie's writers, they considered having Richard Rider appear as Nova following Xandar's destruction to announce the arrival of Thanos to the Avengers. The final version of the movie had that role done by the Hulk.
